Program Administrator on Voluntary Basis

Length of Position: min 3 month, renewable
Dates: as soon as possible

Description: You will be responsible for the day-to-day adminstration of the Beach Africa Community Center and run the day to day activities of the Community.

Tasks:

* organize the staff and ensure all levels of activites are in place
* coordinate the different areas of the work place to ensure efficency, accountablility and
* standard is maintained
* participate in the identification of new community projects
* participate in the orientation workshop for our incoming volunteers
* ensure that communication between volunteers and the Beach Community is free-flowing
* organize workcamps and identify key players to take responsibility
* supervise the Beach Africa Community staff and coordinate all levels of responsibility
* market the Beach Africa Community to the international Community
* maintain our mission statement and standard

Program Administrator on Voluntary Basis

Highlights: The Candidate will be given accomodation at the Beach Community Lodge, free meals are provided. Please note: that the Beach Africa is a community based organisation and this position is on voluntary basis and does not come with a salary. The Position is for a minimum period of 3 months up to 6 months.

Qualifications: A social and outgoing personality, an interest in community development, envoirnmental and conservation interest, good communication and presentation skills, research skills, people and time management skills are desired.

    This Program is open to American, Australian, Canadian, European, Kiwi, South African and Worldwide Participants.

    The Beach Africa Community's Mission Statement: What we do: 1. Implementing Community Projects to uplift the local lively hood. 2. Supporting local community schools through voluntary help and assistance, 3. Implementing Envirnomental Projects, Workshops and Community Activities. The Beach Africa is not only a self-sustainable Project, it is also the Organizer of the Treeunity - a Tree planting Movement in Africa and the base for the Beach Turtle Conservation and Community Center. The Beach Africa Community as a Community Based Organisation (CBO), has been responsible for the development of the Maweni community in Mtwapa, Kenya. Through the CBO a community heaven for volunteers has been created attracting hundreds of young national and international volunteers who travel from all over the world to come to Maweni to help the local community schools, teaching conservation and environmental sustainability, beach cleaning, mangrove replanting, turtle conservation and intercultural exchange or just enjoy their holidays at The Beach Africa.
