English Actors needed for 2010 Theatre-in-Education tour of Italy

Description:
Our actors work in groups of three or four and go on tour to schools throughout the country (mostly north of Rome) to perform and carry out interactive English language shows followed by workshops to Italian students aged 6-14 years. Performances consist of sketches adapted for a particular age group and focus on a particular theme and grammatical areas. Actors will also be required to facilitate long workshops. All the shows are written by us and all materials are provided The overall emphasis is on promoting spoken English in as fresh and entertaining way as possible. On average, the job consists of working five hours a day in a school plus travel to and from the school which may involve distances of 100km or more. Actors may be required to work 2 Saturday mornings a month.
Highlights:
Lingue senza Frontiere provides accommodation, a car and petrol expenses per group,satellite navigator, phone and accident insurance. Flights to and from home are not covered.
Qualifications:
We are looking for actors to join our team from the end of October '09 to end of May '10. A second incorporation will be from January '10 to end of May '10. A genuine interest in working with children is essential. Italian is not required but useful. You must be a native English speaker, enthusiastic, creative and flexible as you will be travelling a great deal. As an actor, you have the opportunity to learn, observe and live the Italian culture (which is very different from the Anglo-saxon one). It is a wonderful opportunity for all actors with a love for T.I.E and children.
Minimum Education: Bachelors
Salary / Pay: Pay is GBP275 per week NET plus a bonus of GBP50 p.w payable five months after the end of the contract.

Lingue senza Frontiere's Mission Statement: Lingue senza Frontiere is a non-profit organisation, officially recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, that teaches English in Italy through Theatre in Education (T.I.E) and organises English Summer Camps in Italy from early June to the end of July and from mid-August to September.
The purpose of our camps is to immerse Italian children in an English speaking environment, giving them the opportunity to attend a course whilst having a valuable, memorable and above all fun experience without flying to an English speaking country.
