Description: 20,000 TEFL Jobs, A Whole World Of Opportunity

With about 20,000 job postings published on the Internet EVERY MONTH there really is a world of opportunity out there.

If you're a native English speaker then you have a commodity that is in huge demand all over the globe. As more and more countries embrace English as the international language of both commerce and culture; the demand to learn it and therefore the opportunity to teach it, naturally increases. As an experienced traveller you'll have an edge when applying for work when you return home.

The volume of people wanting to learn English has increased significantly since the mid 1990s. China alone has an estimated 300 million people currently learning English, India has 250 million. According to a recent British Council study; two billion people will start learning English within the next 10 years and half the human race will be more or less proficient in English by 2030 because of that.

This presents almost unlimited opportunities to live and work all over the world, at least for those who are prepared to train and acquire the right skills.

Five Facts That You Need To Know About The ELT (English Language Teaching) Market:

   1. Just as the USD is the global currency, English is a global language - the language of globalization
   2. 1 billion people are learning it right now; this is expected to reach 2 billion. Wow! Right now there are 300 million learners in China ALONE!
   3. There is currently a huge shortage of TEFL teachers worldwide
   4. It's estimated that by 2030 almost half of the world will be more or less proficient in English. So who's going to teach everyone?
   5. Armed with a recognized TEFL certificate, there is a lot of work out there, and this is not necessarily the case back home!

Highlights: The chance to travel the world funded by the money you earn from teaching. Salaries do vary (for example in Saudi Arabia you can earn up to USD 30K, tax free!) , but they are always enough for you to get by on and do what you want to in that particular country.

You will be helping to make a difference to the lives of those that you teach as well as meeting lots of people and seeing all of the amazing sights that the world has to offer- what more could you want from a job?!
