Description:
Job purpose: Leading and coordinating the activities of other PMAs in a nominated area to maximize consistent implementation and sharing of best practice. Also acting as a PMA in their nominated school, working in partnership with the school principal and senior management team to assist in raising standards of educational delivery and student achievement in respect of gifted and creative pupils (Mawhiba Scholars) and ensuring effective teaching across the whole school. This will be done by mentoring, supporting and advising teaching staff to enhance their confidence and skills in working with the adapted curriculum and developing their own lesson plans. Job objectives: Leadership: 1. Guide and coordinate PMA colleagues and their activities, acting as a link to the Consortia Partners on educational issues and client's other international projects/support services. 2. Ensure PMAs are focused on achieving and maintaining within their schools, alignment of work streams i.e. curriculum development and assessment. Overall : 3. Partner the senior management team in their school to support them with implementing the change process. 4. Support the Principal and senior management team in developing and implementing plans to roll out this approach across the whole school 5. Work with the Principal and senior management team to interpret school data effectively to monitor standards of achievement across the school 6. In all interactions with the whole school team, model and promote the principles of curriculum improvement and delivery, consistent with the training programs provided 7. Actively promote the approach of the program and work in the best interests of the client, modeling positive and supportive interactions with program team members, school staff, parents, students and the wider community, always conscious of the sensitivities of working within this cultural context Teaching and Learning: 8. Supporting teachers with the development of lesson plans and resources that develop and fulfill gifted pupils and apply the techniques and models to the benefit of all students 9. Develop and implement policies and practical programs and support the development of schemes of work which reflect the school's commitment to high standards of teaching and learning in line with Mawhiba expectations 10. Support teachers on a 1:1 or group basis as appropriate, to reflect on their practices and apply the inputs from the training sessions 11. Ensure all advice and support given to teachers is consistent with the inputs developed by the project's Consortia Partners, and enriches the teaching they deliver. 12. Identify trends and issues arising from teachers experiences of the learning provided and applying it to their teaching practices, reporting these to the School Principal and Senior PMA as appropriate 13. Complete reports for the Senior PMA in order that feedback can be provided to Consortia Partners and Mawhiba on lessons learn and to maximize the impact of the program 14. Support colleagues in effective delivery of long, medium and short-term plans in respect of resources and staff professional development requirements, planning and leading CPD for whole staff and groups of staff to meet schools needs 15. Analyze the accuracy and implications of monitoring evidence to further inform policies, practices, expectations and teaching methods in consultation with Consortia Partners for curriculum issues and the senior management team for whole school issues 16. Manage, monitor and review resource provision and oversee procurement of items already agreed with the Senior PMA 17. Work closely with Consortia Partners and school management teams in supervising curriculum delivery and identifying best practice 18. To share, and be aware of, with the School Administration and the senior management team, all Mawhiba information that affects students and teacher performance, and policies for the school 19. Promote high but realistic expectations for student achievement in all subjects developing a positive "can do" attitude and celebration of effort as well as achievement 20. Ensure that teachers are focused and clear about teaching objectives in lessons and understand the sequence of teaching and learning, communicating their intentions to their students 21. Support the promotion of national culture and heritage. Scope: This post is part of the delivery team working with Mawhiba in Saudi Arabia to improve standards of teaching and learning. Key contacts will be with school principals and the other PMAs in Saudi Arabia, along with colleagues in other international school improvement projects and with the team providing research and guidance and resources for use in schools.
Qualifications:
Person specification: Knowledge Essential: * University degree * Teaching qualification Desirable: * Management training qualification Experience: Essential: * Minimum of 5 years teaching experience * Experience as a Head of Department, Deputy Headteacher or Headteacher. * Experience of working in the Middle East * Leadership experience * Experience of leading change programmes * Demonstrable experience of coaching and influencing teachers to adapt and improve their educational delivery. * Acting as an ambassador and model for change programmes in education Desirable: * Experience of working in gifted student programmes. * Experience of behaviour management programmes. Skills Essential: * Bilingual in written and spoken English and Arabic * Highly developed influencing skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work effectively with varied teams * Highly self aware, able to vary their interaction style to get the best out of others. * Confident user of IT systems in an educational context and Microsoft Office packages Desirable: * Confident people manager and coach
Salary / Pay: Senior PMA: SAR450,000 p.a.
These figures include: salary, allowances, yearly end of service allowance, accommodation, utilities, flights (employee and dependents), school fees, furniture and mobilisation.
