They are looking for a Linux Administrator to join their growing Network and Systems Administration team. They are looking for someone smart, enthusiastic, and technical with a passion for troubleshooting and solving problems. In addition to high level technical prowess, the successful candidate will also be a top-notch communicator who understands the need for exceptional customer service.
Highlights:
Responsibilities: - Installing, monitoring, and performance tuning of Unix and network systems - Providing internal customer support to users (e.g., setting up new accounts, changing permissions, updating the DNS, etc.) - Setting up test servers for new applications - Troubleshooting and solving systems and network problems
Qualifications:
- 3+ years system administrator experience working with Unix/Linux systems (Red Hat Linux) on a scale of 25+ servers - Knowledge and experience of scripting languages (e.g., sh, bash, perl) - Experience installing and tuning operating systems (Red Hat Kickstart is an asset) - Excellent understanding and working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPN, and data network security practices - Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot system and network problems - Ability to build on open source software (e.g. Apache, MySQL) from source code - Knowledge of services such as mail, web, IM, DNS, LDAP, monitoring, DB, etc. - Experience maintaining a mission-critical production environment - Knowledge of Windows servers (2000/2003) is an asset - Ability to work in a 24/7 environment - Demonstrated ability to work under pressure - Must be able to communicate fluently in written and spoken English, and a stickler for documentation - Degree in computer science or related education and experience A superb working environment, package and benefits are offered with genuine career prospects.
