The Intl Internship & Volunteer Network (IIVN) helps undergrad & graduate students identify, develop and prepare for an international volunteer, internship or premed opportunity that will strengthen their professional experience, make them more competitive in the academic & professional world and prepare them for their future. We offer valuable development opportunities and personal consultations with our expert staff, in addition to customized programs. We also assist individuals who are just entering, or have been out in the work force for a while, explore career options in their field of interest, as well as those having a strong desire to contribute to the betterment of society and help those less fortunate. IIVN provides an opportunity for individuals to expand their mind and further develop their multicultural understanding. Highlights:
Based in Santiago, Chile, an intern would join us for the upcoming high season from September 2009-April 2010 (approximate dates) taking part and collaborating in the operations, administrative, and press/marketing efforts of the company, working closely with both partners. The ideal candidate would have a natural love for food, wine, and travel and pizzazz for life that shines. Specific job responsibilities could change or increased depending on the knowledge of the intern and initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for a liberal arts, food arts, sommelier, or hospitality student wanting to gain work experience in an international setting in a developed country where tourism and wine are booming; and a passionate, entrepreneurial, and motivating environment. Essential Functions: * Assist in reservations and operations/logistics of tours. * Help clients and aid partners in designing of custom made itineraries. * Collect research data for ongoing projects and maintenance of databases. * Help write newsletter, press releases, marketing materials, and editing text for company website and Eat Wine Blog. * Assist with special events as necessary.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or studying for Bachelor's degree. * Regular attendance is required with agreed schedule. * Must be a good fit for the organizations culture and values. * Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish. * Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and database skills. * Must have superb interpersonal skills and customer service. * Demonstrated interest in food, wine, and travel; hospitality experience preferred. * Excellent verbal communication skills and entrepreneurial attitude. * Strong writer (clips may be requested) to participate in press/marketing/media component of business. * Must be a self-starter and team player who is eager to participate and contribute to the organizations Culinary & Wine team.

We are happy to prepare you with budget guidelines to ensure you plan appropriately for additional meals. * Ground Transportation: Ground transportation to/from the airport/housing of your host country is offered to all participants. Transportation resources and costs will be provided to ensure you budget accordingly.
