The outlook for security systems technicians is good and the number of people employed in this occupation is expected to increase moderately over the next two to three years. This is mainly due to an increased awareness among the public of the need for security, resulting in a rise in demand for the installation of alarm systems for home and personal protection.

Modern Apprenticeships have been introduced into the security industry, which is encouraging employers to employ apprentices and train them to be security systems technicians.
