Intern Teaching Program for Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish speakers!

Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring, Winter 
Length of Position: one semester or full school year
Dates: Up to 12 months

Description: Our Amity Intern Program brings university students or recent graduates to assist in US classrooms. As an alternative to traditional study abroad programs, the Intern program offers students between the ages of 20 and 30 the opportunity to spend a semester or a school year as teaching assistants in US classrooms. Amity Institute offers international students the chance to live, work and experience life in the United States. The Amity program focuses on sharing language and culture with students of all ages and is also designed for those who want to gain teaching experience in a supervised setting and participate in US culture and community.

Through this immersion experience, students will receive insight into the American way of life and improve their English skills.

Intern Teaching Program for Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish speakers!

Highlights: Our Intern Teacher Program is in great need of qualified applicants. Through the program, Interns experience life in the US and immerse themselves within the local culture. The program focuses on three main components:

* Teaching - Interns assist a foreign language teacher in the classroom for 25 hours a week.
* Studying - Take personal study classes arranged by school, no cost to Intern.
* Cultural Immersion - Live with an American Host Family or on-campus, no cost to Intern.

Qualifications: In order to qualify for the program, Intern Teachers must be:

* Between the ages of 20 and 30
* Single with no children
* Currently enrolled in/completed higher education
* Native speakers of Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese or Spanish
(other languages cannot be considered at this time)
* Most importantly the applicant must have an enthusiasm for working with US students and enjoy intercultural communication

Cost Include Description:
Effective cost to the Interns:
* Application fee USD 50 (non-refundable)
* Visa application fee. Please inquire at your local US Embassy/Consulate SEVIS fee USD 180
* Round-trip airline ticket - Varies by location and season
* Health insurance coverage USD 70 per month (average)
* Personal spending money USD 150 per month

Salary / Pay: USD 150 per month, minimum

This Program is open to Asian and European Participants.

Participants Travel to United States Independently

Typically Participants Work in Groups of students, under the supervision of a certified teacher
