Description:
Every year through BEST many two-parent, professional Spanish families host young women in their homes to benefit from the cultural exchange. The au pairs serve as English language models for the children of the family and have light responsibilities. In exchange for childcare, au pairs are treated as family members while they take advantage of other cultural, educational and work opportunities. An intensive Spanish language course and membership in an activities club is included to help the au pair to adjust.
Highlights:
Experience living abroad with no prior foreign language skills. Live with and be a part of a Spanish family. An opportunity to enhance your language skills. You always receive room and board and a 50 euro stipend for spending money in exchange for 25 hours of child care. Your schedule will be between 10 and 25 hours a week depending on the family's needs. BEST personally screens and interviews all potential au pair host families at their homes. This arrangement is compatible with work as a teacher's aide in children's EFL classes or with administrative work through BEST.
Qualifications:
* The program is only open to native English speaking females between the ages of 18 and 25 who like and have experience with children
* Non-smokers are preferred.
* She should have an interest in Spanish language and culture.
* Basic Spanish is desirable but not compulsory
* The commitment is for 3 months with an option to renew
* Crash Spanish language course and full coverage insurance is included in fee.
