Description: Includes Host Family placement, room, board, insurance, and stipend!

The city of Barcelona is the innovative, cosmopolitan and modern capital of the Catalonia region of Spain. Barcelona is rich in history and culture, and is the home to many famous landmarks such as Gaudí's Sagrada Familia church. Conveniently located on the Mediterranean Sea and with easy access to other European countries, this dynamic and diverse city offers its visitors numerous festivals, and sporting and cultural events all year round.

Au pairs provide a maximum of 30 hours of childcare per week, and may be asked to baby-sit in the evenings, but no more than 3 times per week.

An au pair's responsibilities can include:

* Bringing the children to school and picking them up
* Interacting and playing with the children
* Helping with homework
* Performing light housework associated with the children such as helping to keep their rooms clean or cooking light meals

Au pairs are not responsible for housework unrelated to the children or for managing the household. Au pairs are only responsible for their share of daily chores as any other member of the family.

Work Permit and Visa Application Assistance-We help ensure you'll be legally entitled to work and travel during your time in the program.

Accident and Sickness Insurance-Included in each program or available through InterExchange at a reasonable cost.

Pre-Departure and Host Country Assistance-Working Abroad and our international cooperators provide. pre-departure and host country assistance throughout the entire program. Emergency support is also available.

Qualifications: Au pairs in Barcelona must:
- Be a female between the ages of 18 and 27 with at least a high school diploma
- Have previous childcare or baby-sitting experience, and a genuine love of children
- Be able to commit to a period of at least 3 months during the academic year (1-2 months possible during the summer)
- Have basic skills in Spanish

  • Salary / Pay: Au Pairs in Barcelona Receive: * Placement with a carefully screened host family * A private room and full board * A stipend of 60 Euros per week * 2 weeks of paid vacation per year (1 week for 6-month placements) * At least 1 complete day off per week (usually Sunday) * Help with transportation costs if placed in the outskirts of Barcelona
