Qualifications:
It is not necessary to be qualified to work as an au pair. But it is important to have experience with children as the host families need to trust the persons who handle their little loved ones. The au pair must be aware that she/he will be homesick, so she/he has to wish strongly living this experience, as at the beginning it might be hard. The au pair has to be mature enough to adjust with the new habits and ways of life, very different from hers/his, without feeling shocked by the cultural change. The host family will do their best to help the au pair.
Minimum Education: Diploma/Certification
Salary / Pay: around 350 euros monthly
Experience Required: yes
Attitude towards children is very important for an Italian mother. The au pair must play and interact with them, not just stay around while they play by themselves. This is something that foreign au pairs sometimes do not understand, but it is what all Italian mothers actually wish. The successful au pair is absolutely involved in what the children do, is creative in organizing their games, keeps them active, happy and out of dangers. And talks a lot, for them to become confident with the English language.` has been removed.
