Expedition Manager and Expedition Staff

Length of Position: one-year contract
Dates: Immediate

Description: Help run the expedition with other staff, provide dive training for Expedition Members and maintain and repair dive equipment, boats, cars and compressors. Keep up the high standard of health and safety locals, aid with the science and community programmes, drive the dive boats.

Conditions
All food, accommodation, equipment and essential transport provided plus competitive salary and flight contribution paid at start and end of contract. Own insurance has to be provided. Hours are long, with a day and a half off at weekends although staff take turns to be on duty then as well. Time off between expeditions is shared amongst both bases. Conditions are basic in huts or tents and staff share, normally with one other person. There is no running water, only bucket showers, and a generator provides electricity at night. The diet is generally vegetarian, due to no refrigeration, and staff are expected to join Expedition Members in camp duties such as cooking, base cleaning, compressors, maintenance of cars and boats.

Highlights: Pez Maya, Biosphere Reserve of Sian Ka'an, Tulum, Quintana Roo. Approximately 3 hours south of Cancun, an hour from Tulum along a rough dirt road into the jungle and set in a pristine Caribbean location.

Qualifications:
- PADI and EFR Instructor and qualified boat driver
- Able to repair and maintain Yamaha outboards, cars, compressors and generators
- Spanish speaker preferable
- Able to work as a team member and use own initiative, adapting to adverse conditions and limited supplies
