2010 Language Exchange- Live in Spain

Description: Cultural Embrace offers a wonderful chance for you to affordably live in Barcelona, Spain! Teach and tutor a local Spanish family with the English grammar and oral skills in exchange for room and full-board seven days a week. You will be responsible to teach for 15-20 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Thus, your weekends are completely free, allowing enough spare time to explore this beautiful country, learn the Spanish language and culture, gain a new perspective of your own life, and make new friends!

    * Guaranteed Host Family Placement Prior to Departure

You will be provided with a host family profile that matches your language level, goals, and preferences prior to your departure date. All host families are pre-screened and have a past in hosting international students or other cultural exchanges. You will tutor English or your native language (ie: French, German, Russian, Chinese, etc) to your local host family for 15-20 hours/week

* Private Accommodations and Full-Board
You will receive a private room in your host family's home, as well as 3 meal per day, 7 days per week as compensation for your services.
* Arrival Assistance & Orientation
Airport pick-up will be available, as well as an arrival orientation with our local partners.
* Visa Assistance
Cultural Embrace will provide you with the proper documentation needed to obtain a visa. We have no control or guarantees of government issuances and visa availability.
* Insurance Assistance
Cultural Embrace highly recommends obtaining international travelers insurance. CE offers many options for insurance plans and will be happy to work with you to sign up for a policy.
*Cultural Embrace Pre-Departure Kit
Useful tips, advice, and information to prepare you for the amazing adventure of living and teaching abroad.
*Full-time Support
Cultural Embrace provides representation in the United States and your host country prior to, during, and after your placement.
* Optional On-line TEFL Certification
Preparation of skills and techniques required for successful language teaching at the leisure of your own schedule and computer. This 20-units course requires approx. 80-100 hours of attention. TEFL course may be added for only USD295!

Qualifications:
- Be competent and fluent with your native language, English is most requested from local families, but other languages can be arranged too (knowledge of host country's language helpful but NOT required.)
- Have earned a high school diploma or certificate.
- Enjoy tutoring/teaching children or adults
- Good lesson planning and organization skills
- Be a non-smoker, or willing not to smoke in the host family's home
- Flexibility to embrace foreign cultures and living abroad
- Responsible and dedicated to full-term of commitment
- Criminal background check may be required by some positions
