Description:
The GraceKennedy Jamaican Birthright Programme is a cultural and professional internship geared at highlighting all aspects of Jamaican life while furthering your career goals. It is designed to give you a well-rounded Jamaican experience. The core values of the programme focuses on responsibility, reliability, hard work, courtesy, leadership qualities, flexibility and an eagerness to learn. At the end of the programme you will make the transition from 'Intern' to 'Ambassador' for GraceKennedy and Jamaica. Professional Component: Work rotation within one or more of Grace Kennedy's two Divisions (GK Foods or GK Investments Ltd) will grant you hands on experience in a range of industries, while incorporating your professional interests into your work schedule. In addition to gaining practical experience, the Internship will develop your leadership skills and good corporate work ethics. Cultural Component: There will be variety of weekend programmes know as the Heritage Pathways, which will expose you to the Jamaican heritage by educating you on our historic sites, natural and human resources, and of course, our beaches! You will go on several tours around the island. Social Component: Grace Kennedy will provide housing and laundry facilities. This is a great opportunity for you to interact with interns from other cultures and backgrounds. Transportation will be provided to and from work Monday through Friday. On the free weekends (no planned activities) you will be responsible for all costs related to transportation and incidentals incurred on any personal outings (i.e. movies, shopping, going out to dinner etc.)
Qualifications:
1. Must be between the ages of 19-30 years 2. Must be currently enrolled in a university/college(either undergrad or post grad) 3. Must have Jamaican parent/s or grandparent/s. 4. Must not have lived in Jamaica for more than 6 months 5. must have a B+ Average (GPA 3.0) or above

Cost in US$: Internship paid by the company
Cost Include Description:
- Airfare - Accommodations - Meals - Transportation to and from work - All expenses on the weekends that they go on the Heritage Pathway (planned tours to different parts of the island) - They will also receive a small weekly stipend to cover lunch and basic incidentals.
