Length of Position: 4 week TESOL Certification Program
Description:
LanguageCorps offers a TESOL Certification Program in Barcelona and Seville: an accredited four-week training course that include 120+ hours of classroom time and the most important part of any quality TESOL certificate course, at least 6 hours of Observed Teaching Practice with local EFL students.
Highlights:
Seville is the capital of Andalusia, the largest city in Southern Spain, and the home of such famed operatic characters as Carmen, Figaro, and Don Juan. Renowned throughout Spain for the vitality, humor, and joie de vivre of her inhabitants, Seville is famed for colorful festivals, vibrant cafe culture, and theatrical riches. The week-long spring festival, the Feria de Abril, is not to be missed. Food and drink, music and dancing, parades of mounted gentlemen and beautiful dancers, all flow day and night from the customary field of tented pavilions. Legends of Hercules' local exploits aside, ancient Seville was founded when the Guadalquivir River shifted away from the nearby Roman city Italica (the ruins of which are not to be missed). Known as Hispalis during the Roman Empire and Isbiliya under the Moors, Seville's past remains present in abundance. From the flower-decked Santa Cruz quarter to the La Maestranza bullring, Seville's graceful blending of Moorish, Gothic, and Renaissance styles defines Mediterranean elegance. Our Training Center in Seville is centrally located in a traditional and lively neighborhood. From the rooftop terrace, trainees have a beautiful view of the world-famous Sevilla Cathedral and Giralda tower -- a mere 100 meters away! The Center is also equipped with large, modern classrooms and quiet lesson-planning offices. Barcelona, Catalonia's capital, sparkles with vibrant colors and intense energy. Home to some of the most visionary artists of the modern era, Barcelona inspired Picasso's Cubism and Dali's Surrealism. Thanks to its location on the Mediterranean, Barcelona enjoys a pleasant climate year-round with mild winters and hot sunny summers with a refreshing sea breeze. Outdoor activities, from swimming in the Mediterranean to skiing in the Pyrenees, are popular and easily accessible. Our Training Center in Barcelona is on "La Rambla de Catalunya." This central boulevard is easily one of the most emblematic of Barcelona -- full of restaurants, museums and surrounded by centuries of glorious architecture. The Center itself has ten classrooms, a lovely terrace, and is equipped with all the comforts of home. The TESOL Certification Program prepares graduates to teach English effectively in any classroom in the world. Designed for those with or without previous teaching experience, this intensive, accredited training program includes instruction from experienced trainers, classroom observation of professional teachers, and teaching practice with language learners. Participants learn how to lead classes using the communicative approach and teaching students to use real-world language for real-world situations. Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to teach adult ESL/EFL classes of different levels, feel comfortable choosing the right material to teach a given class, and complement their classes with audio-visual aids.
