Description: EF English First, with 150 schools in China, is the market leader and is opening new schools every month. We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic individuals, who are excited by the challenge of running a language school, improving both its programs and the quality of instruction from the teaching staff.

As a Director of Studies, you will be expected to do a certain amount of teaching hours, carry out teacher training and generally assist in the professional development of all teaching staff and develop materials - you will need a high level of patience, tolerance and flexibility!

The duties of a DOS include:
- support, guidance and training for teachers
- management of resources (human and material)
- scheduling of classes
- quality control of the academic program
- overseeing of placement testing
- organization of extra-curricular activities
- participation in the growth and development of the school

Candidates are encouraged to send speculative applications for specific provinces as positions are filled very quickly.

Qualifications: Candidates must have 2 years' English language teaching experience and recognized teaching English as a foreign language certification, like the EF Certificate in TEFL, which contains a minimum of 6 hours observed teaching practice (equivalent qualifications like Trinity Cert. TESOL or CELTA are also acceptable).

The EF's Diploma programs are designed with a DOS's needs in mind with weekly task submissions, essays and a set of online assignments requiring 10 hours commitment a week. This 26-week course thoroughly prepares candidates for the Trinity Diploma in TESOL and has additional, optional modules on Teacher Training, Materials Writing and Teaching Young Learners.

Candidates wishing to be moderated by Trinity College London and be awarded the LTCL Diploma TESOL must take a practical block in Shanghai or Manchester, UK.
