Description: I-DEV's Doing Development In...Program: Peru is a 10-day training program designed to give professionals & graduate students a realistic, firsthand view of how grassroots development, micro-finance, corporate social responsibility and social venture capital programs are making a difference on the ground, in communities at the base of the pyramid.

Whether you are interested in a career transition into economic development or in simply learning more about international aid, social enterprise, microfinance or CSR, I-DEV's Doing Development In...Program offers a unique and fun opportunity to get your feet wet!

Doing Development in Peru

Highlights:
*Network with senior management at top international development organizations
*Stay with a local host family in a small village & experience the daily lives and challenges faced by families at the base of the pyramid

Qualifications / Skills Needed: Graduate student or professional

Minimum Education: Bachelors

Intern Types: Business Admin, Management, Development, Interdisciplinary, International Relations and Spanish

Language: English

Cost in US$: USD 1499

Cost Includes: Excursions, Food, Housing, In-country orientation/Training, Registration fees, Travel while in host country and Written materials pre-departure

Experience Required: no

Typical Volunteer Projects: business, community development, grassroots organization, managerial consulting, micro-enterprise, microcredit, sanitation and small business development

Typical Volunteer: A professional or graduate student committed to international development, microfinance, non-profit management or CSR, who is interested to improve their skills and create programs that are more impactful and cost effective. Participants enjoy international travel and are comfortable staying with host families and camping in addition to staying in business-class hotels.

Age Range: Typically 22-40, but no restrictions

This Program is open to Worldwide Participants. This Program is also open to Couples and Individuals.

Typical Living Arrangements: Home-stays and Other

Participants Travel to Peru Independently

Typically Participants Work in Groups of 10
